I have a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing and have been teaching at the university level since 2006. I have been painting and drawing for around 20 years and I am very versatile in different styles and different mediums of art such as abstract, realism, watercolor, acrylic, oil, graphite, ink, and pastels.
It is a remarkable thing to be a part of someone else’s intellectual development. My main goal as an art instructor is to get students to have a new perspective on the world around them. I want them to be immersed in both historical and contemporary art through references and experiences. But I also want them to see the world around them with new eyes. I want them to see more than just an object to draw or paint sitting in front of them. I want them to understand the shadows, colors, contours, and lines that exist and to use that knowledge for their artistic expression.
